during the summertime, I hear... I hope so anyway cos I'm going there next week! Just for 3 days or so (I really should check these things more carefully!) but I'm looking forward to it because I've never been before. Technicaly I've been through Paris some years ago (during a car journey to Northern Spain to visit some relatives) but I've never gotten around to exploring the city and 'seeing the sites'. Any recommendations for stuff to see & do? I already have an enormous list from a certain French friend but would also be interested in what others have enjoyed about the French capital... Oh yeah, seeing PJ Harvey (again!) at Le Zenith whilst I'm there! That's one day sorted anyway!

Really? Quite a coincidence... Funny that... ;D and Danni, this the place yeah? www.cafe-de-flore.com I will try to visit it. We aren't there that long but hopefully it won't be miles away from our hotel! With regards to my boss... yeah he's alright with letting me have time off. Considering I've only asked for a total of 11 days out of almost a year I think am quite reasonable too!

LOL - i just got back yesterday. Spent 4 days there - and funnily enough i caught a gig :-) Not sure about beautiful- smelly, dirty and crowded has always been my impression of Paris every time i've been there - and this time was no different. Places to visit - recommend the Musee Rodin - The Kiss and The Thinker - museum is in house he shared with Picasso and others - lovely setting and great scultures as well and some rather nice paintings Seeing the setting sun from the top of the Arc de Triomphe is always a nice way to spend some time

By the louvre, cafe called Angelinas, very decadent and the best hot chocolate I have ever tasted.
Open top busses are a good way of getting around.

Tis indeed expensive... but did you have a nice time anyway?
That pic is virtually identical to the one I took, only without the random French bloke peeking 'round the side!
