Being a teen in the eighties was pretty shite music wise. Early eighties not so bad, mid eighties dire and things improved towards the end of the decade.
My brother-in-law always asks this question, in 1985 was there an album release which could be classed as even passable?
I would like your input on this because I cant think of any musical releases worthy of mention.

Hmm can't remember it too well myself (any music I was into in 1985 I probably wouldn't admit to on here ;D) but it doesn't seem to have been all bad! click!

Kate Bush: Hounds of Love Tom Waits: Rain Dogs Husker Du: Flip Your Wig The Triffids: Born Sandy Devotional The Fall: This Nation's Saving Grace The Replacements: Tim Sonic Youth: Bad Moon Rising The Dukes of Stratosfear: 25 O'Clock Minutemen: Double Nickels on the Dime
Takin' me back...

Psychocandy - Jesus & Mary Chain Back in the DHSS - Half Man Half Biscuit Meat Is Murder - The Smiths
And apart from some mentioned above, those are the only ones I can think of that are worthy of a mention. It truly was a dire era for music. Even Bowie didn't release an album that year.
