Yes! Quite a recent convert. I remembered 'Unemployed in Summertime' from a while back but never heard an album. Recently listened to 'Fisherman's Woman' and really like it.

I'd never heard of her until i saw her late last year supporting Ed Harcourt. It was quite a performance - as soon as she started singing the whole crowd stopped talking and stared (unusual for a support act). The song was 'Today Has Been Ok' and I'd have to say it was one of my most memorable live music moments...possibly because I wasn't really expecting anything! Seen her a couple of times since then and she's been excellent every time. 'Fisherman's Woman' is a bit different to her previous stuff. Apparantly a lot of her old fans aren't too impressed with the change...

Try 'Fisherman's Woman' This is her new one but the only one I've heard from start to finish. She has another album called 'Love in the Time of Science' and I think one called 'Merman'?

I've only listened to her last two. 'Fishermans Woman' is very laid back. Its not much more than her voice and an acoustic guitar, but its very good! 'Love in the Time of Science' is more upbeat...louder, more electronic. Its good but I prefer the style of FW.

Hey guys an' dolls my oh myyy, me lil' Emiliana - she is ber-yoo-tee-fuuuul. I'm one of thems old fans, adored 'Love in the Time of Science', wish I could get my hands on 'Merman', I just love her obscure-ish covers, and I have to say I'm definitely one of the fans who adores her new stuff. Me and me two beautiful pals got over to the glee club in b'ham to see her, nicked meself a lil' promo poster on the way out too *teehee* ;D Emiliana was simply gorgeous. Me bestest pal had read some slightly dodgy reports that at some gigs she was 'grumpy' and only playing seven songs, so we was a lickle peturbed, for this was not the impresion of the Torrini that we had. Alas, she was *compleeeetely* the opposite, she did 'bout 14 songs, mini encore, was completely beautifully (I know, I over-use the word, but hey, applicabley appropiate it is) ...chatty throughout, telling us lil' stories and had virtually everyone in hysterics at points. Very very charming and sweet. Very beautiful simple note-perfect voice. Unfortunately she didn't have that effect on a very ignorant party of 3 behind us (we had 'higher' seats with our back to the bar) who schlaaagged the lil' gorgeous fing off throughout, y'know the types, who just go to something cus it's 7 quid and don't really care and hmm, again, are just plain ignorant. Anyway anyway anyway, I would *strongly* recommend EVERY lil' monkey on this forum to go out and buy a squillion copies of each alb and pass on the beauty I shaddup. I do. I will. Ta-ra lovelies *wave* xxx
