;D Noooo .... EverybodysGirl knows who Tori is - trust me! She was asking about Maggie! Anyway I'll solve that. Maggie Gyllenhaal is actualy an actress rather than a musician (well as far as I know)! She was in Donnie Darko (along with her brother Jake - who plays Donnie) and Secretary among other things...

Jewel's book of poetry is lovely - saw her reading some of them on Oprah years ago...beautiful. You people should watch the film, Anywhere But Here. It is great because it has Natalie Portman in it, but also because there is a lovely version of Sarah Mclachlan's "I will Remember you" on it.

Tori Amos is my Love. i've got earthquakes, choirgirl hotel, scarlets', pele, under the pink, to venus and strange little girls.
My preferred tracks are all but if i had to choose i'll probably go for: precious things, space dog, blood roses, caught a lite sneeze, hey jupiter, carbon, i can't see new york, cruel, liquid diamonds, northern lad, hotel, tear in your hand, china, glory of the 80's ....
My preferred albums are From the choirgirl hotel and Scarlets' Walk. I also love to download occasional tracks of her. Her cover of REM's "loosing my religion" is such a good one.
As with Jewel i only have "Spirit" from which "Hands" is my fav.
Tori rules - i need to get a tshirt of her to go round with it for local promotion ;D

I'm a HUGE fan (uh, EWF, lol) of Tori's!
I found her way too late in my life, in my opinion, but I will be eternally grateful for finding her music. If I tried to articulate how brilliant I think she is...I'd be here forever. Indescribable.

Another Tori-lover here! ♥ She's amazing. I do like some Sarah and Jewel, too, but Tori's music, to me, soars above everything else. I've been listening to it for over a decade now and she makes me really picky about what kinds of music/songwriting I think is "good" now and what kinds of other female musicians I like. I liked Carina RIGHT AWAY from the first moment I sampled The Disconnection in my indie record store quite simply because she had that "it"... that certain something about her that made me feel like I was hearing some of the most interesting and moving music I'd heard in a while. Her voice is all at once powerful yet tender.

Maybe someone can help me out here: I've got 5 Tori Amos albums at the last count, but the only one I really like is "Boys for Pele". I love that one to bits, but I'm fairly ambivalent about the rest.
Where am I going wrong?
