OK!
New album release date has been put back and back and back - started as Jan and now is Oct/Nov (when some of the recording was done in Nov 2004!!!!)
- SOOOOO
why can you get promo/advance copies on ebay AS WELL as official release versions?
All a very odd world

Am I the only person to be slightly p***ed off at this? I've had it on order from Amazon UK for months, and now it looks like it's not even on sale there. Meanwhile, the reviews from the states all rave about it, while the UK fans are left out in the cold. Has there even been any explanation for the delay? Luckily, I got a promo version from Amazon US, and from the once I've had a chance to listen to it, it was worth the effort, but what's the delay?

I really really don't understand this delaying business - the album leaked ages ago, the album is old news even before it is released. Can't help sales, if that's their concern.

Gah! I pre-ordered this from www.cduniverse.com, since they've been very reliable in the past, and aren't out to fist me with shipping fees. Of course, once it hit midnight on Oct. 10th, they rolled over from the "pre-order" screen to "backordered" - I've had it pre-ordered since early May, and been very patient, and if it takes until 2007, then fine, I can wait that long. But I'm having trouble understanding what's causing this delay. It's obvious the album has leaked, and this kind of stasis can't be healthy, business-wise. Anyways, regarding those copies available at the UK Amazon... Are they actual copies of the album? or is it a promo/review copy? or are they just kidding about having copies?

They are Advance copies of the album - promo copies - and are musically exactly the same as the album. The only difference in track listing is that on the advance copy - The City is listed as the last track but on the full release it is planned that it is a "secret" track at the end!!! Plus you dont get much artwork with the advance copy Other than that its the same - and if you cant wait for another 6 months or maybe longer then its worth getting

I just couldn't wait any longer and have just ordered an import copy from Amazon, especially after listening to all the track samples they have on the site. From the 30 seconds you hear it sounds very very good.
Must admit I was getting mightily pissed off with the unexplained delay for the UK release. It's not as though Carina has signed for a small record company who would struggle to get a distribution deal this side of the Atlantic.

I do love Slow Motion Addict, but to tell the truth it's definitely a love that had to be worked on and nurtured. Fell in love with her music when Disconnection was released (First Blood Mystery is class as well)...it was interesting and different from anything else I was listening to. What I like most is the texturing and layering of her songs with this jazz feel. With SMA this jazzy influence has been dropped for a more out and out rock feel. There are exceptions...not so much with the jazz aspect, but songs like Come to You, January Heart, and Disconnection remind me of what I came to expect.
But with that said there are songs from SMA that run through my mind all the time...and I wouldn't give it away for anything. Actually got in ebay this summer right before it was announced that the release date was going to be pushed back again. Couldn't wait to listen to it, so figured I buy it for the songs and keep my pre-order with amazon so I could get the insert, et al. Now that I've seen Carina live (her setlist is basically all from the new album) I have a greater appreciation for the direction she's taken. Anyone else who's listened feel the same?

So now Amazon.com are saying it's due in Jan 2010 ;D So, who's up for a trip to the US for the proposed West Coast tour (see the myspace page...)? It's been too long since the last gig... Maybe we could get a good deal on flights if enough of us book ;D
