Fantastic gig dedicated to Beecham's Cold & Flu . A small ( about 50 - 60) captivated and mesmerised audience really appreciated her performance, unlike some of the dullards at Leicester. Her confidence in performing solo has obviously risen after the nerves of the first gig at Leicester. She said she had the best gig experience ever this evening with the crowd singing along to Back Seat, and was clearly moved by it. Nice to speak with her after the gig - what a lovely lady! She prepared no set list, but what she played, and some of it was audience requests was: Down Slow Stolen Car Paris Motel 74 How I See It Into My Blood Elegy Ready To Confess Thief In The Sky Back Seat Let It Fall (including a long rendition of Pixies' "I've Been Tired")

It's a nice old venue with lots of nostalgia and memorabilia of bands that have played there. I tend to go there whenever there's a band I like appearing in preference to other closeby venues. And they've got Staropramen on draught ;D.

sadly the place from the outside looked like a complete dive - but as always most of these places turn out to be the best.
Not sure about the arctic monkeys-esque first band who were called North of Watford (I think!??) but the murderbirds were amazing. Not often I buy a support bands cd.
Not a patch on Carina though - it was worth the wait since Glastonbury!

I've just learnt that the Boardwalk has closed for good and is being turned into a Tesco Express. Even more reason to hate that company now. That venue was packed with history. Seen some great gigs there.
