Yeah! I went to see Zero 7 at Brixton Academy on Friday which was brilliant! Then yesterday I saw a local folky type singer called Martha Tilston at The Ram Jam club in Kingston. This was a great gig too though bit of a contrast from the previous night. 5000 or so people at Brixton, probably only about 30 ish people at Ram Jam!

hey Steve was Sia singing with Zero 7? I was thinking of seeing her when she does a solo gig in July. She's come a long way from her days back in Adelaide Australia singing with a small jazz funk band.
I went to see The Stills and The Shins last weekend. They were both very impressive.
Off to Scotland this weekend... and then Rufus Wainwright next thursday. Ahhh I love music in London - you can see quality gigs every week if you want (or more realistically if you can afford it).

Hi Lex, yeah Sia was with Zero 7. She sung Destiny & Distractions and the new ones Somersault and Speed Dial No.2. Did you know she has a new solo album out btw? If not it's called Colour The Small One and is brilliant! Sia's been gigging about too - seen her at Cargo, The Spitz and The Barfly this year. Her band are realy good & Sophie Barker from Zero 7 does backing vocals with her on tour too. There's a gig at Lock 17 in July - if you can get a ticket I would defnitely recommend going! I was talking about Sia on a previous thread actually... carinaround.proboards23.com/index.cgi?board=music&action=display&thread=1074908450

thanks Steve. i don't know a lot about Sia's stuff actually. I have seen and heard bits and pieces and have always been impressed. She's always been one of those artisits who i keep meaning to listen to. I saw an ad for her gig at the barfly but it was already sold out. I reckon I'll try and go to the Lock 17 show, and hopefully pick up her new album before then!
