No, wanted to though! It was sold out by the time I found out about it and I had previously been to 3 gigs in 4 days or something so would have been too tired.
So how was the gig?
Btw Beth is playing at this thing called 'Homefries' in a couple of weeks
ADEM and EAT YOUR OWN EARS presents 'HOMEFIRES'
Saturday September 18th Doors 3pm:
BETH ORTON BERT JANSCH ALAN SPARHAWK (LOW) ADEM JUANA MOLINA MICAH P HINSON MEMORY BAND DJ GRUFF RHYS
Sunday September 19th Doors 4pm:
(SMOG) JOANNA NEWSOM ADEM WILLY MASON MEON
This is where it's gonna take place: Conway Hall, 25 Red Lion Square, London WC1R
I'm thinking of maybe going. Tickets are £16.50 for each day...

yeah it wasn't promoted very well. I found out through a friend and even then I couldn't find any information on it anywhere.
the gig was pretty good. it was very informal and I'm not sure if Beth even looked at her set list once. She was extremely nervous when she came out. I've never seen someone who's played so many gigs so nervous before - she was literally trembling and the first 2 songs were rushed and she was short of breath. A bit of banter with the crowd while she tuned her guitar seemed to calm her down a bit and it was very good after that. She played a few songs from the album she's recording at the moment which all sounded quite good.
James Blunt and Adem were the support. I thought James was pretty good. Adem was ok - i think he lost the crowd a bit.
Sorry not much of a reviewer I usually leave that to JCE!
