A couple of nice informative new posts on Carina's my space blog. Looks like she's settling down in the U S of A to make new album which won't be out until next year; she's going to take her time. New songs removed from myspace site so that they can be a "surprise" when album is launched. Sounds like she's building up for the big one - hope so and good luck Carina.
Hope she can fit in another min-tour of the UK with band - I missed the last one!

im quite disappointed at her settling in america, i have nothing against america but im just worried she'll be influenced too much by the american market.
i dont like the sing-a-long on "backseat" and feel if an album came full of that it would alienate her original fans

Hhhmm fitz I think the last CD does reflect some US influences. I think it's lost the sharpness of earlier ones!

you are right but i think with some of the new stuff i heard her do its gone past SMA and more americanised. I know she alienated alot of her original fans with SMA (See the low turn outs at her gigs compared to IMB & TD era gigs) but with the likes of Backseat i think if she sticks with this formula, aswell as going back to the acoustic route, she's going too american.
there was a time when i would have killed to do a duet on one of my records with her and in ome respect i still would love to, but she needs to find her roots again and not get sucked into corporate shit. SMA was a balance for me between independantism and commercialism. i hope she takes a step back as its what was so original about her to begin with...

Again I agree with you fitz. Nemo and Steve first told me about her, now notably absent! I loved her originality and performance style, I think she has great charm. But she is, to me anyway, in the English eccentric mould. She is very sexy, but crazy with it, not the slick American type of singer. I thought she was more of a rocker than she now appears.
