New uk shows on Carina's myspace site - supporting the Gutter Twins. Includes Shepherd's Bush Empire - 2000 capacity. Don't know what to make of that! Hope it's with a band as i can't see an acoustic act holding their own.

I think it will have to be a full band to hold the attention of Gutter Twin fans. Could be a good chance to increase her fan base. I think I'll go to at least Sheffield, but I need to familiarise myself with a bit more of the Gutter Twins music. Saw them on Later a few weeks ago and what I've heard so far, I've liked.

According to www.carinaround.com/default.aspx, she'll be playing these gigs solo, which is a pity as I haven't seen her play with her band for a long long time .

And now confirmed on her myspace site.
Can't help but feel this is a missed opportunity to get new fans.

Yes I noticed that. I've never seen her with band and as much as I like her solo, I'm not sure that it will attract the attention of the audience to the same extent, many of whom will be milling around in the bar I guess.
I will await reviews from the early gigs before deciding whether to venture to London. I have little interest in the Gutter Twins and don't really want to make the trip for a 30 minute solo set with a handful of people standing around chatting. Or am I being too negative?

very disappointing that the gigs are solo but it depends how her inter-band relations are going!

The shows with a band would maybe get a better reaction from people who don't know her stuff BUT still think she'll blow everybody's minds with the solo shows. I'll certainly be spreading the word.

Yes I agree grip, the audience will be milling around with a drink in hand, why doesn't she play concert venues, she started off that way. I can think of several small intimate ones in the south east, I'm sure she'd go down a bomb in Brighton or Canterbury.

This is fab news!!! Already got my ticket for the Gutter Twins in Liverpool (huge fan of Mark Lanegan) so this is an added bonus. I do think a full band show would be better suited though if I'm being picky but I'm sure she'll wow people anyway. Going to the Gustav Klimt exhibition at the Tate the same day, what a great Saturday!

Hope u have fun saharalass and please give us a full setlist if you can!!!! hope someone records one or more of these shows too!
I do think its a let down she's playing acoustic, but at least shes playing the UK again, it could very well be months or years before she does again!

Seeing as I quite like the Gutter Twins album, I've decided to go to Nottingham as well as Sheffield. I'll just have to make sure I'm there early enough to see the support .
