The new Carina Round website has been launched, complete with the "Backseat" video and the pre-order for Things You Should Know! www.carinaround.com/Reactions, all? Backseat's ending gives me chills -- the power of it. The final version surpassed my expectations -- the horns, the plucked-like keyboard, the entire atmosphere, and of course Carina's gentle voice. The video has some gorgeous imagery. Each scene/person singing had a bit of a different visual emotion to it, which was really interesting. The final one with the park greenery looked gorgeous. Carina had a bit of a smug smile and everyone circles around. It just felt so complete. Also, 2 acoustic songs! Hurrah.

Ok so I gave myself a few minutes at work to watch it I like the song, although I have to say it's one of my least favourite Carina tracks, the first half is lovely and I think the lyrics are great, but the "god told me" lyric grates (maybe I'll just pretend to hear "you told me" in my head!). Can't wait to hear the EP when it arrives though, I think it might be her best little collection of songs if the previous videos and Gutter Twins tour are anything to go by.

I pre-ordered it as well, in fact as soon as I got the bulletin, such was my excitement. Won't make me get it any quicker though ;D.
Wonderful video of Backseat. I was wondering how the finished version of the song would turn out, having only so far seen/heard solo acoustic versions. And I'm not disappointed.

So what is in the EP exactly?
When you pre-order you get two additional acoustic tracks - additional to what?
I love what I heard so far but I'd be happy to know clearly what to expect.
Which Tracks? Any videos? Which bitrate? ...?
Carina or anyone else who can tell for sure, please let us know!
Thanks in advance

Thanks in advance It's a Digital Only release so the acoustic bonus tracks are in addition to the regular e.p No tracklisting has been confirmed yet, i think it's safe to sat that with the video for backseat on her website, that this is the track that's promoting it and will be included. Id also hazard a guess that "For Everything A Reason" and "Do You" could also be included. Id assume bitrate would be 320kbps as per regular cd encoding but don't quote me on any of this unless im right!

The video seems to have been removed already! Blimey, Carina's PR approach does seem a little bizarre lately.

Hello
ok.... so here goes,
due to the fact that i am releasing this EP by myself and i havent really done this before things are a little complicated thus far...
i have put up the download link without any real promotion to try to see how much interest there is and if i can raise enough money to pay for PR (so you can all be better informed) and to make physical CD's for sale at shows (the money from the first pre-orders will be going toward these things)... Thank you all of you who have pre- ordered! I will be doing a mass mail-out soon aswell as changing 'skins' to my social networking sites and putting up clips of the new songs and track order.
which is as follows...
Backseat Please Don't Stop Thief In The Sky Do You For Everything A Reason
the 2 pre-order exclusive acoustic version as of now will be
Do You For Everything A Reason
Also i will be putting up an explaination as to what those who wish to donate would be donating toward. Any other suggestions you have please let me know. tease.and.sting@gmail.com please bare in mind that my management and i are doing this all by ourselves at a very roots level with generous help from a few amazing people.
i put up the backseat video and then got interest for some features (which is great) but they asked for exclusivity of the video for the time being so i had to take it down as this could be an opportinuty to reach more people which, as you all know, would be cool... but im so happy that those of you who have seen it like it!
so basically, the only reason that those of you that know about the EP and Video know about the is cause you are such amazing fans and you actively look for stuff... i have done very little to promote it so far and didn't want to do so until all of the above things are in place...
Thanks for sticking with me through tirial and error...
Love Carina xxxx

Thanks Carina - lovely to see you post here. I know you've said before that doing your own PR is a bit of a challenge - so I'll try to be a bit more patient! Looking forward to hearing the EP in its entirety.
Hope you'll be coming to the UK to promote it?

Thanks, Carina, for your information. I'm happily going to promote your EP on www.ethrill.net - The Eurythmics Fanweb soon. After the video is removed for now, is Backseat ANYWHERE online to listen to (as a preview, appetizer for the interested visitors) at the moment? I didn't see it on MySpace and the snippet on ReverbNation is too short to really get an idea of how blowing-away, how wave-of-emotion this song is.
