I just bought tickets to this show. Flying all the way from Milwaukee to see her. It'll be my second time seeing Carina since the Chicago Martyrs show of 07. I hope she plays for a decent amount of time since she's an opener and all.
Is anyone else going to this show?

Poor Carina. She was really ill for this show, but she was such a trooper and played an opening set of seven songs.
Down Slow Pick up the Phone You & Me Do You Gotta Go (L.A. Song) Girl and the Ghost Backseat
She was drinking coconut milk on stage, and her voice was husky. She couldn't belt it out like she normally does, but still sounded lovely none the less. The last couple songs were a struggle for her, I felt, but she pulled through and was very generous to her audience. She stopped at one point during the set and said, "Wow I sound like a completely different person. That's awesome." Gotta Go got a more mello approach, and Backseat became a sing-along. I was a little sad because I knew that signaled the end. But I can't say I regret the two-thousand miles I flew to get there. I talked to Carina briefly after the show and told her that she sounded beautiful despite her sickness. I asked about collaborating with Gary Baseman and she said that she's know Gary for a really long time, and just kept pestering him until he agreed to work with her. I can't think that it took that much convincing, though, with Carina's charm and charisma. she signed a CD for me and for my friend that wished she could have been there. But I didn't want to take up too much of her time. I figured she needed to rest up and get well.

Nice review. Was she solo or with a band? Any photos?
