Is anyone going to this? I just moved to Brooklyn in January from England, so was delighted to see the date announced. I'll be on my todd so would be happy to meet up with anyone for a beer at the show

I was going to go to the NYC show before she scheduled the Chicago show on the 17th. Chicago is half the distance from me so I'm going to that one. I haven't ruled out the NYC show but I probably won't make it. Too much gas cost and hotel bills.

It was a good show, although I always selfishly want more from a set (clocked in at under an hour I think). She seemed a bit more subdued compared to the other two times I've seen her play (Oxford in 2008 and London Water Rats in 2009) but was still in good form. I took plenty of pictures but wasn't in a great spot (I was right at the front, but because she has two microphones on her stand her face was often obscured by one of them from my angle), I'll try and post the best couple when I get time. Managed to chat to her afterwards and managed to thank her for having Anna Calvi as her support act last time I saw her, and also posting an Ann Peebles track on her facebook page a couple of years ago, both of whom have become firm favourites. Loved watching the stream. I, too, would say this performance was a bit more subdued. I was at the Chicago show on the 17th. The temperature was blistering hot and Carina was as spastic as I've ever seen her regardless of the heat (the venue was not air conditioned well) and a small stage. As the set progressed, Carina's make-up began to run reminding me of Alice Cooper. She told me it was the hottest gig she EVER played.
The setlist was identical except she played "Got To Go" between "Weird Dream" and "The Last Time" and there was a lot more chat and interactiion with the audience. The Knitting Factory show also had much less 'sailor-mouth' talk than the Chicago show or any of the other Carina shows I've seen.
Might it be, because of the live stream (which, these days, is not unlike a TV appearance), she presented a more 'family-friendly' performance?
They also set up their own gear in Chicago.
Must be nice to have a full decent video of a show you've seen.
