I have some friends in the North East who like her and would go to see her, but she never seems to play up there for some reason.

Yeah, it's a shame she doesn't do a more extensive UK tour, but I'm glad there's at least one gig I'll be able to attend (Leeds). Nowadays, she tends to do only London and Birmingham on her rare visits over here. I hope Tigermending has come to the attention of more people, making the crowd swell at the gigs, but I've not seen many reviews of the album in the UK, e.g. no review in Mojo still.

Perhaps once it's 'officially' released in the UK, it'll get some reviews. I would her imagine her forthcoming shows will attract some media attention.

I'll be there at Bush Hall with a few friends.
It's actually my girlfriend's birthday which led to a slightly awkward conversation.

Great gig at The Well in Leeds Sunday night. Can't remember the set list (none on stage to nick), but if my memory serves me well, it consisted of most of Tigermending, plus Down Slow, Into My Blood and I Would Die 4U. Very intimate solo encore of Backseat with Carina unamplified standing at edge of stage. Had a nice long chat with her mum, Pammy. Good to catch up with her after 5 years! Asked Carina if she'd be touring the UK again next year, but unfortunately this seems unlikely - in spite of the tour pledges, she's had to dig deeply into her savings to finance this UK/Europe full band tour . I bought a vinyl copy of Tigermending and a glossy tour poster from her, so I hope this helps a bit! There were only about 60 (all enthusiastic) people attending the gig. I'm sure the attendance would have been greater if Tigermending had been released officially in Europe a lot earlier. I've still to see any reviews of the album anywhere that has a large readership. It's all about marketing, and Carina's talent deserves much greater exposure.
