It's been a bumper year for PJ Harvey. Must be a climate change thing. Though my plums and tomatos have suffered.
I can help you with the Boston dilemma Sid. The trick is to make a decision to go anyway (easy!), and then just take a bit of time to justify said decision. You can be quite creative with the justification part; in fact, it's expected.
Here's a suggestion to get the ball rolling:
Sid needs to go to Boston to dress up in tea leaves and throw Ted Danson off a cliff to protest at the terrible waste of red socks.
Guys - think of some more reasons why Sid needs to go to Boston. And if PJ Harvey happens to be in town at the same time, then that's even better.

Not fair, I want to go to Boston but I am far too poor for that sort of thing now Sorry to hear about your plums, Fridgemagnet

Can't complain. 2003 was a bumper year for my plums, but only 2 PJ Harvey sightings.
Talking of which, she's got a session about to be aired on BBC4, 9pm Friday 1st October. Pretty unmissable, I would have thought.
Did anyone record the big, in-depth interview Polly gave to Radio 3's Mixing It a while back? My CD recorder had a hissy fit and I only managed to record the last 15 minutes.

Sid, you absolute star! The .ra format works for me just fine. If you don't like RealPlayer, then I can heartily recommend IrfanView for all your audio-visual file opening needs. It's free, quick, simple yet useful, and available from here: www.irfanview.com/It's a top interview, and I'm eternally grateful to Sid for preserving it for the nation.

In fact if it hadn't of been for Sid I wouldn't have been there as he won the tickets. Though... if I hadn't of been for me e-mailing him about the competition in time he might not have been there and I wouldn't have either... Er.. yeah, anyway. This is unmissable. Unfortunately I think I'm going to miss it No BBC 4 at my primitive little house. Boo Mixing It interview is ace.

There's a black hole in my sofa that eats remote controls. I've had to buy a new one for the telly, and now it's consumed my Freeview box remote. Despite that I still managed to tune in to BBC4 to see the PJ session. I wondered if Steve and Sid were amongst the blessed, and I'm glad to hear you claimed your rightful place in the throng.
Sorry about my dodgy avatar making the place look untidy. Hopefully it's fixed now. It's a picture of the real Fridgemagnet; I'm just an imposter assuming a cute, furry identity.
